Here is a tech note regarding Recording Air/Fuel Ratio using an Innovate Motorsports LC-1 Wideband Sensor with a Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition System.
Whether you are driving in a High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) course, or full tilt racing, Data Acquisition can be of great benefit to improving driver performance as well as vehicle performance. Data Acquisition has traditionally been very expensive to both setup, and interpret, but in recent years the development field of telematics has come down in cost and accuracy such that they are well suited for motorsport applications. Previous to these GPS based units, a IR sensor on the pit wall recorded lap times, but could not give detailed data like a GPS unit can. Combine the GPS functionality with a g-load sensors and you have a great way to quantitatively measure performance. This is where the Traqmate unit comes in (and others like it), they provide all this functionality in 1 simple package ready to go. Continue reading ‘Introduction to Data Aquisition’
