Announcing the “2009 Northwest Boxster Spec Cup Series” Sponsored by Gorman Motorsports*
We are excited to announce the “2009 Northwest Boxster Spec Cup Series” Sponsored by Gorman Motorsports*. We have scheduled an 8 race series that is embedded within PCA Club Racing and the American Racing Club. Our event locations are currently Thunderhill Raceway and Buttonwillow Raceway. Our 2009 schedule is:
March 28th & 29th @ Thunderhill Raceway (Completed)
May 23rd & 24th @ Buttonwillow Raceway Park (Completed)
June 20th & 21st @ Thunderhill Raceway (Completed)
September 5th & 6th @ Thunderhill Raceway
In order to promote close racing and competitiveness we have a simple points system of 1st = 5, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 3, 4th = 2 and 5th = 1. DNF’s and DQ’s are not eligible for position points. We will take the top 6 out of 8 finishes per driver. All Boxster Spec eligible cars are welcome to participate.
After 6 events we have had 4 different winners. The current Northwest Boxster Spec Cup point standings are:

2. Andrew Forrest (19)
3. Bill Pickering (18)
4. Kenny Gorman (11)
5. Mike Peterson (9)
6. Fred Chin (3)The Northwest Boxster Spec Cup Series races have been fan favorites and provided the closest racing at every event that has been run. Our series is the “buzz” of the paddock and more importantly, a fantastic experience for the drivers.
We’re looking forward to a great remainder of the season and we are currently planning an expanded race schedule for 2010 that will allow for greater crossover participation from Southwest region drivers.
