An Activation will only operate on one physical computer.

Gorman Motorsports supports BMW CCA Data Acquisition at Buttonwillow

bmwccaGorman Motorsports supported the San Diego BMW CCA chapter at Buttonwillow Raceway last weekend to teach our class; “Data Acquisition using Traqmate and Traqview”. It was an exciting event with an unprecedented 29 drivers collecting data over the course of the weekend. With Traqmate Basics being used in each car, students had real world data to compare against instructors and other students for driver improvement.

Gorman Motorsports supports GT3 Challenge Team

Gorman Motorsports will be providing MoTeC data services to the Mercer Motorsports entry in the Patron GT3 Challenge by Yokohama Series at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway during the ALMS weekend on October 8/9/10 2009.

We are very proud to be part of the effort to campaign the #75 Mercer Motorsports entry in the last GT3 Challenge race of the season. Driver Rich Walton of Jerry Woods Enterprises will be at the helm. Crew Chief Christian Grass will also be key in the effort on all things car prep and setup related. We have an awesome crew and expect good results. Rich has shown some serious speed.

For us this project is very sweet because it demonstrates exactly the level of competience Gorman Motorsports has grown into in the last year as part of our Porsche GT3 Cup support program. We have done custom dash setups on the MoTeC ADL2 system, fuel strategy/management, Chasecam video integration, spec-legal brake and steering sensors, Race Radio/Motorola integration, Modus calibration and a variety of other services. We have been working with the team during test sessions on vehicle and driver performance. We have also been meticulously tracking setup changes and tire management parameters in the MoTeC software. Each heat cycle, tire pressures, tire set, tire temps and much much more data has all been combined into the MoTeC system for the highest possible level of competitiveness.

Gorman Motorsports supports Prey Racing in Koni Challenge

Gorman Motorsports was on-hand at the Grand-Am race at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele Utah supporting our client Prey Racing in the Koni Challenge.

Gorman Motorsports ran data for the team all weekend and worked both on driver comparison/improvement as well as data for setup and tuning using the on-board AiM MXL dash equipped with GPS, CAN link and various sensors. We also captured video for driver feedback as well as archival using a Chasecam PDR100.

Brad Roberts from BRAG was on hand as well providing setup and reliability advice and expertise for the effort. As always, Brad was able to provide valuable insight to help bring down the lap times.

This was only the second outing for the #04 Royal Purple Boxster in the ST class and the car and drivers are showing some serious speed. There are some changes planned for the next outing to improve the car even further.

Chris was running low 3:19’s and the fastest cars, the APR cars were about two seconds quicker than most of the pack. The Maxwell paper boxster showed some serious speed in qualifying under the care of Robin Liddell, but dropped out late in the race. For those of you who don’t know, this is a ‘04 Boxster with the 2.7 motor and 5 speed transmission.

During the race the #04 car ran as high as 9th and finally finished 15th after a challenging stint in the dark. The car was reliable and fast, and we have a list of improvements to make before the next round for both driver feedback and car monitoring.

The weather all weekend was beautiful and the racing was fantastic. If you have not seen the Miller Motorsports facility or driven on the 4.5 Mile track, you need to. It’s fantastic.
